Goodbye Rod!!!

As everything in life, Rod's stay in our school has come to an end. We are sad about it because he has helped us to learn and improve our English. He has been with us in maths, natural science and English.

As he has been so kind and friendly, we wanted to organize a little surprise party for him in his favourite classroom, 1º of ESO, and of course we brought his favourite Spanish food: CHURROS!!

We had a delightful time with him. The students also prepared a song, Rod's rap, which Rod liked very much. We will miss you Rod!!

Here you can see some of the pictures we took.

Have a good week!
Hi again, how are you?

I hope you enjoyed the visit of our provincial Delegate of Education, Mrs Angustias María Rodríguez Ortega last week. For us it was a pleasure to have her here to give the group of 1º ESO their prize for non-smoking classroom.
Here you can see the video of (almost) the whole ceremony.
An official video of the ceremony was recorded and a lot of pictures were taken, one of them appearing in the provincial newspaper "Jaén" the following day.

Congratulations again!

Here you can see the Easter Eggs they decorated in the classroom and the videos they made at home with the Eggs as characters. I'm sure you'll have as much fun as me having a look at them, no doubt they have done a great job!!

Harry
R
Hello, my name is Harry.
I am Rod's dog. You have probably met Rod already in your classes. Rod is the new English Language Assistant.
Rod told me that he is in Siles to help you to speak English. So, you can practice your English by talking and listening to him in the classroom.
Map of England
We live near El Ejido in the south of Spain but Rod used to live in Cornwall which is a county (region) in the south-west of England.

The town he lived in is called Looe. Looe is a small town on the south coast of Cornwall.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012

We want to wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR but we also want you to learn about New Year in other countries. In the Chinese Zodiac, for example, each sign is an animal as you can see in the picture below.

Chinese New Year day - January 23, 2012

When is the Chinese New Year's Day in Year 2012? It is on January 23, 2012. Chinese New Year, also known as the Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. It consists of a period of celebrations, starting on New Year's Day, on the first day of the first month of the Chinese calendar.

According to the Chinese Zodiac, the Year of 2012 is the Year of the Dragon. The Dragon is the fifth sign of the Chinese Zodiac, which consists of 12 Animal signs.

People born in the year of the dragon are full of vitality and strength. To them, life is full of colours. These people are always adored. They are proud, cold and frank. They have clear ideas at an early age, and want others to have same ideals.

The Dragon is a creature of myth and legend. A symbol of good fortune and sign of intense power, the Oriental Dragon is considered a divine beast - a malicious monster that Westerners wanted to find and kill. In Eastern philosophy, the Dragon is a deliverer of good fortune and a master of authority. Therefore, those people born in Dragon years are honored and respected people.

Do you know which animal you are according to Chinese zodiac?
